Position brief:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Database Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization’s databases to ensure their availability, performance, and security. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in database administration, ORACLE RAC DBA, SQL server DBA & Mongo DBA, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

The role of the candidate will be:

  1. Database Administrator Support:

∙ Design, implement, and maintain database systems, including installation, configuration, and patching of database software.

∙ Perform database tuning and optimization to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.

∙ Monitor database performance and capacity, and implement proactive measures to identify and address performance bottlenecks and capacity constraints.

∙ Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing.

∙ Plan and execute database backups, disaster recovery procedures, and data retention policies to ensure data integrity and availability.

∙ Troubleshoot database-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

∙ Collaborate with application development teams to design and optimize database schemas, queries, and stored procedures for performance and scalability.

∙ Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles to facilitate efficient database administration and support.

∙ Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.

∙ Expertise in handling Data Guard issues on multi-Compute node 11gR2RAC, 12c RAC, 19c RAC and non RAC environment.

∙ Creation and Management of Users, Table Spaces, Roles, Privileges & Profiles.

∙ Monitoring database space requirements and performing Database health checks.

∙ Expertise in Oracle software Installation, Database Configuration.

∙ Expertise in applying CPU Patch, PSU Patch, Up-Gradation.

∙ Expertise in Cross platform migration.

∙ Expertise in applying interim patches using OPatch utility.

∙ Expertise in Backup and recovery using RMAN, hot backup, database cloning using RMAN and good command over utilities like Export, Import and Data pump.

∙ Maintenance and administration of multiple instances in RAC environment.

∙ Managing and administering the ASM storage at Database and ASM instance level.

∙ Configuring ASM Instances and Migrated Non-ASM Databases to ASM databases Using RMAN

∙ Creating table spaces, user maintenance, and database security imposition by creating and granting roles and privileges, performance tuning, database refresh.

∙ Expertise in database tuning towards the optimal performance.

∙ Expertise in configuring and administrating 11gR2 and 12c RAC database on multi node cluster on Linux/Unix Environment.

∙ Maintaining 11gR2 grid infrastructure and database by using CRSCTL, SRVCTL utilities and maintaining OCR, VD administration.

∙ Performance tuning using SQL TRACE, Tkprof, Explain plan, AWR

∙ Experienced in Query Tunning/Performance Tunning.

∙ Expertise in upgrading both cluster ware and RDBMS homes.

∙ Coordinating with Oracle Technical Support (Metal ink) for bug fixes.

∙ Expertise in handling database performance. Pro-actively identifies database issues and resolution.

∙ Coordinating with offshore and onsite DBA, vendors/Oracle support in critical database problem situations. Work with cross project teams to resolve technical performance issues/bottlenecks.

∙ Maintain sound backup and error recovery procedures by participating in periodic backup audits, ensuring all databases are being backed-up.

∙ Perform Oracle Systems Database Administration across multiple Oracle database environments and ensure continuous 24×7 operation and availability in support of mission critical internal production applications.

∙ Experience in implementing SQL Server security and Object permissions like maintaining Database authentication modes, creation of users, configurations and assigning roles to users.

∙ Configuring and maintaining all types of Database Backups and Recovery operations.

∙ Experience in creating the database and maintaining and performing all database activities.

∙ Experience on migration activities like side-by-side migration of SQL Server

∙ Experience in scheduling and troubleshooting Alerts and Jobs.

∙ Experience in Implementing and Problem solving of high availability solutions like Log Shipping, DB Mirroring, Clustering and Always ON AG.

∙ Having good knowledge on cluster architecture and involved in cluster failover activities and monitoring the cluster environments.

∙ Have a good experience on Always ON Availability Group and creating a listener as per client requirements.

∙ Monitoring the slow running queries, when query running slow situations.

∙ Worked on SQL Server Tools: Profiler and Performance Monitor and DTA.

∙ Assume ownership of database related problems & pursues problem resolution and root cause analysis.

∙ Address user tickets

∙ Troubleshoot the issues.

∙ preventive maintenance

∙ Pro-active check of applications DB.

∙ Patching  activity.

∙ Tracking DB performance and try to enhance it.

∙ Checking Indexing of Tables

∙ Monitor full DB for storage, logs and Tablespace

∙ Record technical issues and solutions in logs

∙ Achieving 99.99% SLA and meeting the stake holders’ expectations related to IT&C.

∙ Maintain 99.99% uptime of end systems and peripherals

∙ Establish and enforce incident management processes, including incident logging, prioritization, escalation, and resolution, to minimize business impact and downtime.

∙ Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching and mentoring to team members, and identify opportunities for skill development and career growth.

∙ Leading the team of DBA support L1/L2.

∙ Troubleshoot the issues at L3 level.

∙ Record technical issues and solutions in logs

∙ Providing KT to team and grooming them

∙ Should be able to handle unresolved issues

∙ Help team to create technical documentation and manuals.

∙ Perform weekly, half monthly and monthly PM activity as per define schedule

∙ Adhere incident management, Service request & change management process

 

  1. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

    1. Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to understand network requirements and align network services with organizational goals.

    2. Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and external partners to ensure smooth network operations and service delivery.

    3. Communicate network-related updates, issues, and project statuses to relevant stakeholders.

    4. Act as a technical escalation point for network-related incidents and provide timely resolution.

  2. Documentation and Reporting:

    1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network infrastructure, configurations, and processes.

    2. Prepare regular reports on network performance, incidents, and capacity utilization.

    3. Contribute to the development of network-related policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Working Experience and Qualification

  • B.Tech/BE/Diploma/Graduate in Computer science / Bachelor’s degree in any field, preferably Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 12 – 15 years of experience as ORACLE RAC DBA, SQL SERVER DBA & MONGO DBA. Design, Development & support in an on-site environment
  • Experience working directly in a customer service environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential
  • Strong work ethics as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Handling issues independently and grooming the team
